Online booking for yoga and dance studios
A timetable of classes with places: who is signed up for Thursday evening is visible in one window.
How this business works
A studio runs on a timetable: classes repeat by weekday, each with its own teacher and room. Places in a room are limited and run out at popular times.
Besides groups there are private lessons, workshops by visiting teachers and room hire for rehearsals.
What gets in the way
Sign-up in a group chat
Plus signs in a messenger get lost, and before the class nobody knows exactly how many will come.
An overcrowded room
Everyone who "was going to come" came, and there were not enough mats.
Attendance is marked on paper
Those sheets then have to be copied somewhere.
Workshops are sold separately
Each event gets a new spreadsheet and a new form.
How BookDo handles it
Sessions by schedule
Set the weekdays and the time, and classes are created for the whole period. A single class can be closed for booking or removed.
Number of places
The form shows how many places are left and does not let anyone book beyond the room.
List of who signed up
Clicking a class opens its bookings. The status is changed with one button per person or for all selected at once: attended, no-show.
Tickets at different prices
A workshop can have several ticket types, each with its own price.
Private lessons
Run in the same workspace as appointments with a teacher.

Common questions
Does BookDo track class passes?
Not yet. You can take sign-ups and record payments, but the number of classes left on a pass is not tracked.
Can I rent the room by the hour?
Yes, the room is set up as something booked by time with an hourly price.
Will a teacher see who signed up for their class?
Yes, if you give them access to the workspace. Rights are set by roles.
